Type: Preparation for Entrepreneurial Showcase
As our Entrepreneurial Showcase will be held on 1st June 2016, we will need to start prepare for it this week. Our class was being divided in two three groups, which are the poster group (Groups A, B and C), the merchandise group (Group D) and the leaflet group (Group E, F and G). I belong to the poster group, our responsibility is to create posters that were regarding to the RCDMM and decorating the booth. As there are three groups in the poster group, our task is to create one of the poster. Therefore, our group leader, Edison Chua distribute the task to our members and ensure that everyone done their respective job before the dateline. Everything was being finished on time.
However, we feel that it was kind of last-minute work as we done our job two days before the showcase. According to this situation, it shows that we’re not having a proper time management and do not have enough time to have further improvements on the work we did. Not only that, we faced some technical issue while printing the poster too. As I did a mistake while editing the poster, it caused the poster to have low pixels and therefore the details were unclear. Hence, we would need to reprint the poster and an extra costs was being added.
Based on the incidents happened above, I feel that it’s important to have good communication with each other in order to produce good work. Not only that, we would need to have proper time management too and avoid last-minute work. However, it’s a great time to work with everyone as we get to know each other better.

Type: Entrepreneurial Showcase
It’s the Entrepreneurial Showcase today! It’s the day that we show all our prepared work to all the VIPs. This showcase lasted for 2.5 hours. Before the event get started, the students who in charge on setting up the booth would need to start get things ready (preparation of the booth) before 2pm. As you can see below, all the photos were being set up nicely. Their main objectives of beautifying the booth are to attract the people who attend this event and ensure that they are aware of our CSI project partners. Our CSI project partners are, AKPK & AIM, RC Deaf Missions, Deaf in Businss, Fugee School and United Voice.
Then, students and all the VIPs had to get into the hall after all the preparations. The event started off with the welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Nair, the Vice-Chancellor of Taylor’s University. Besides, Ms. Debbie Choa from EO Malaysia and Mr. Syed Sadiq Albar from Projek 57 had sharing on the social entrepreneurship too. After all the interesting sharing by the wonderful people, everyone and the VIPs were being invited outside to have a glance on the booths. Then, it ended with the tea session with our CSI project partners.
After experiencing such an interesting showcase, I agree that it’s not easy to run an event. It requires large amount of time and ideas to create such a successful occasion. Not only that, the speeches that given by Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Nair, Ms. Debbie Choa and Mr. Syed Sadiq Albar were really impressive and inspiring. Based on the incidents that they stated and gone through, we could see that those were not easy. They thought us to be persist on the objectives that we had set and do not give up easily.
